Ok ... damn ... the island wasn't a good idea ... it was insane, boats everywhere trying to moor or anchor or whatever the damn expression is ... then the car ferry arrived, ran into the jetty and disgorged a horde of freaking zombies all over the crowds on shore.
We're putting out to sea for a few days, going to try and wait out the worst of whatever is happening.
The only problem is ...
I was bitten.
Should I tell them?
I have to say something.
Or maybe I'll do a Captain Oates .. step out for some time ...

I'd advise not saying anything. You don't want to upset anyone. There are lives at stake, here.
Run the wound under a cold tap. It'll be fine.
