- This morning I reread E. M. Forster's 'The Machine Stops' and found it as impressive as I remembered. Really, it's one of the best science fiction stories you'll read, and is remarkably prescient. It's about a future where almost all human interaction is conducted in cyberspace, and people spend all their time at home being tended to by the Machine, downloading mp3s, watching Youtube and vodcasting*.
*Or the 1909 equivalents of these activities
