Here's a fairly easy quiz: guess the sci fi messiahs! All from movies or television.

Happy Easter!

OK, this is funny.

I know 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 & 8, though I think I ought to know 10.

I guess that shows my taste.

One is Superman, or Kal-El, who was sent from the heavens to protect us.

Two is Neo, or The One, who prophesy foretold would save Zion.

I'll reveal more answers later, in case anyone else wants to have a go: feel free to post your answers in comments!

Well, OK, got those two correct.

3 - Leeloo (sp?) from The Fifth Element

4 - Riddick

7 - Bender, of Futurama (and my favorite)

8 - Duhhhh...

Well done so far, Gabe ...

Three is Leeloo, also known as the Fifth Element, or as the Supreme Being.

Four is Riddick, the last of the Furyans, who was prophecied to overthrow the Lord Marshal of the Necromongers.

Seven is Bender, who became deity of the Shrimpkins.

Eight is Anakin Skywalker, a.k.a. Darth Vader, who had a miraculous birth, was prophecied to bring balance to the force.

By the way, Steve, you absolutely MUST do a crossover of the Bowler-Hatted Gentleman with Bowler Hat Guy from Disney's Meet The Robinson's.

5 is David Lister, lowest ranked person on the Red Dwarf, savior to the Cat race?

Steve said...

Gabe - I'll check out Meet the Robinsons.

Josh - good work! Dave Lister, a.k.a. Cloister the Stupid, who will return and lead the descendants of Frankenstein the cat to the promised land of Fuchal (Fiji).

6 - Benjamin Sisko, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Steve said...

Good one, Bill! The key to that one was to think which series of Trek used holosuites rather than holodecks ...

And I forgot about 9. Vaylen, aka Jeffrey Sinclair.

Steve said...

Only one more to go - someone whose mother says they're not the messiah, just a very naughty boy ...

Not particularly science fiction ...

Is #10 Brian from Monty Pythons "The Life of Brian."?

Steve said...

Excellent! Thanks for playing everyone!

3. Leeloo

7. Bender!

8. Anakin Skywalker

9. Sinclair (and good riddance! the show improved drastically after he was no longer a regular.)

Steve said...

I agree about 9, Joi!

I suppose I'm dating myself if I say that I thought #2 was William Katt in Greatest American Hero, who almost always fell every time he would fly in his superpowered superhero suit.

I'm afraid mostly what I remember from the Matrix is Really. Loud. Music. Effects. Guns. Loud.

Steve said...

LOL ... I haven't thought about that show in years!

Thanks, Pat ...
